Guided Dawn Chorus Walk

Sunday 3rd May only - Pre-booking required

Arrive 5am for a 5.30am start

Join us on International Dawn Chorus day for a gentle, guided walk through the woodland with our expert, Clayton Eastwood.

We’ll be listening for different birds living in and around the Rowfant Trail, before stopping for a hot drink and toasted crumpets.

£15 per ticket.

Participants must be 12+ years old.

Time for an outdoor adventure!

Explore the lush green woodland. Listen carefully for the cheerful songs of the birds or hunt for a hidden frog among the leaves.

We’ll be opening a new toddler play area in time for half term, so keep your eyes peeled!

We will be joined by ‘Nanny Sam’s coffee van’ on 28th & 29th May too so you can enjoy a freshly made coffee in our picnic area.

Autumn @ Rowfant Trail

Autumn in the woodland reveals a stunning display of colourful leaves and berries. As you wander through the autum mist, how many fungi varieties can you see peeking through the leaf litter and growing on trees?

Take a ‘Fungi Spotter’ sheet and see what you can find around the trail.

Bat Night with Michael Blencowe

Saturday 5th September only

As the sun sets, some of the most amazing animals on the Rowfant Trail take to the skies. Join us for a special family evening to learn all about the bats that live here.

Sussex Naturalist, Michael Blencowe will start the evening with a short talk about these wonderful animals, whilst you enjoy a hot drink.

Armed with bat detectors, which will allow us to tune into their echolocations, we’ll take a slow, guided walk around the trail looking (and listening) out for bats as well as owls and other nocturnal creatures.

This event is suitable for adults and children - min age 8 years.
